How Does Direct Billing Work?
With direct billing, we send the bill for your dental treatment directly to your dental insurance provider. This means that you only need to pay a small co-payment for the remaining amount not covered by your insurance plan at the time of your visit.
At Marlborough Dental Centre, we will work with you to determine if you are eligible for direct billing. If so, we will strive to do all the hard work for you, so your visit is as simple and straightforward as possible.

How Much Will My Dental Insurance Plan Cover?
From our experience, insurance providers commonly cover about 70 to 90% of the cost for standard procedures under general dental care. This includes oral exams, dental cleanings, fillings, and wisdom tooth extraction.
For example, an oral exam may cost you $100 without insurance coverage, but only $30 with insurance coverage.
Specialized restorative dental procedures often have less insurance coverage at about 50%.
To illustrate, a dental crown without insurance could cost you $1,500 per tooth. With insurance, you would need to pay about $750 out of pocket.
Typical dental insurance coverage:
- General Dental Care: 70% to 90% cost coverage
- Cosmetic Dentistry: 0 to 50% cost coverage
