The Dental Implant Procedure

The first step in the dental implant procedure is to take an X-ray to determine if you have enough bone tissue to support an implant.

Once your candidacy is determined, we’ll give you anesthesia to make sure that you experience little or no pain throughout the procedure. We’ll remove the decayed tooth, if necessary, and insert a special titanium metal implant designed to mimic the root of a tooth.

Most patients make a quick recovery following the procedure, typically within one week. Over the next few months, we’ll wait as your implant begins to heal into your jawbone.

Once the healing is complete, we’ll install a post or abutment and add your new crown.
