The Root Canal Therapy Procedure

After giving you an anesthetic, Dr. Popp will begin by placing a special rubber dam around your tooth to keep it clean and free from saliva bacteria. He’ll make a small opening in the tooth and carefully extract the infected tooth pulp.
Once the tooth pulp is removed, the area is cleaned, your tooth canal is sealed, and a filling is inserted. In some cases, you may need additional restoration to your tooth, such as a dental crown.
The entire process is quick, with very little pain or discomfort. Most patients recover fully in less than one week.
